Random Thought

There was a time when I thought I knew so much. I knew so little then. Now I know so much. I know so little.

 If anyone imagines that he knows something, he does not yet know as he ought to know

So much to Accomplish!

I got up early one morning,
And rushed right into the day;
I had so much to accomplish,
I didn’t have time to pray.

Troubles just tumbled about me,
And heavier came each task.
"Why doesn’t God help me?" I wondered.

He answered, "You didn’t ask."

I tried to come into God’s presence;
I used all my keys at the lock.
God gently and lovingly chided,
"Why, child, you didn’t knock."

I wanted to see joy and beauty,
But the day toiled on gray and bleak.
I wondered why God didn’t show me.
He said, "You didn’t seek."

I woke up early this morning,
And paused before entering the day.
I had so much to accomplish
That I had to take time to pray.

Agnosticism appeals to my brain, Christ to all my being and Atheism to nothing

Dependent on the Spirit

Did you say, my soul, that you now know the truth? Well done! But you are not even halfway there...  So now bend your knee, bow your head and pray that the Spirit would use it well.

Marbles and Candy

"A little boy had lots of pretty marbles.  But he was constantly eyeing his sister's bagful of candy.  One day he said to her, "If you give me all your candy, I'll give you all of my marbles."  She gave it much thought, and agreed to the trade.  He took all her candy and went back to his room to get his marbles.  But the more he admired them the more reluctant he became to give them all up.  So he hid the best of them under his pillow and took the rest to her.  That night, she slept soundly, while he tossed and turned restlessly, unable to sleep and thinking, "I wonder if she gave me all the candy?"

-I did not write this story. I happened to hear Ravi Zhacharias talk about it. He did not write it either.

My cup runneth over
